Set Up:

To begin play, Player 2 runs across the field to receive the first pass. Player 1 makes a long pass to Player 2 and then runs an overlap to goal. Player 2 lays the ball off to Player 1 for a first time shot. After Player 2 makes his pass, Player 4 can begin run towards Player 3 to combine and shoot on the opposite goal. In the example, Player 4 sets up on the outside to receive a cross-field pass from Player 3. Player 3 can then finish a layoff pass in the center. Players always have the option to run to the inside or the outside of the field. After 10 minutes, the players switch to the other side.

Coaching Points:

1.  Hold the run in order to adjust to the pass.

2.  Just make solid contact on a ball set back to you. Don't overpower it.

3.  Deal with the goalkeeper as opposed to just hitting the ball at the goal.

Progressions:

1.  Incorporate different turning moves and passes in the center.
