Set Up:
There are four players set up on a small grid with a small goal. The two attackers pass the ball back and forth, using one or two touches. Each time the ball is passed, the two defenders adjust to the ball, pressuring and covering. They play passive defense and do not tackle. However, if an attacker takes the ball to goal and attempts to score, the defenders play 100%. After five minutes, the pairs of players switch places.
Coaching Points:
1. Do not charge in. Control the speed of your approaching run.
2. Curve your run to the ball and approach at an angle. Force the play in one direction.
3. Close down to within 3-5 yards to take away thru passes down the center.
Progressions:
1. Add a third attacker.
