Set Up:
There are 12-15 players set up in the attacking third, starting at the cones. To begin play, the two defenders move onto the field and position themselves inside of the gates. The Feeder then passes to either of the attackers, and the players release with the Feeder’s first touch. The attackers must dribble thru one of the gates before going to goal. If the defenders win the ball, they can score in the two goals set up outside of the penalty area. Upon completion, the Feeder re-starts play with the next set of players.
Coaching Points:
1. When a gate closes down, keep possession and change the point of the attack.
2. Change speed and direction with the dribble in order to beat the defender.
3. Look for 2v1 combinations (overlap, takeover) and force the defenders into switches.
Progressions:
1. Progress to 4v3 with three gates.
