Set Up:
12-15 players are set up in the attacking third, playing 4v2. The attackers start at the cones, and the two defenders start inside of the penalty area. The Feeder begins play with a pass out to either flank attacker. The defenders release with the Feeder’s first touch, and play continues 4v2 to completion. When the defenders win the ball, they can score in the two small goals set up outside of the penalty area. On goals or balls put out of play, the Feeder re-starts the drill with a new set of attackers and defenders.
Coaching Points:
1. Use the entire width of the field and force the defenders out of the penalty area.
2. Attack isolated defenders 2v1. Use the overlap combination out on the flanks.
3. Get to the end line and create opportunities for crosses and setback finishes.
Progressions:
1. First time finishes only.
2. Progress to 6v4.
