Set Up:
10-16 players are set up in the attacking third, playing 3v1 in the central grid, and 1v1 inside the penalty area. The three attackers play keep away inside the grid and look to pass the ball into the penalty area. An attacker losing the ball in the grid becomes the defender. Once the pass is made in, two of the attackers cross over into the penalty area and attack the goal 3v1. If the defender wins the ball, he can score in the two small goals set up outside of the penalty area. On goals or balls put out of play, the Feeder re-starts play inside of the grid.
Coaching Points:
1. Hold the run and/or check away until the attackers are prepared to pass.
2. Take the first touch away from the defender and keep the ball on your outside foot.
3. Make the overlap run into the box, and look for the layoff pass.
Progressions:
1. The defender crosses over with the pass, creating a 3v2.
