Set Up:
Ten players set up in the attacking third, playing 4v2 in the small grid, with two flank attackers starting at the cones. The attackers play keep away and look to make a thru pass between the two defenders. After the thru pass is made, both flank attackers (Players 1 and 2) are sent to goal, and the ball is played to the corner for a cross and finish. If a defender wins the ball inside the grid, he switches out with the attacker who lost it. After the shot on goal, two new players rotate into the defense.
Coaching Points:
1. Eliminate extra touches and always be prepared to play a one touch pass.
2. Fake the thru pass when the passing lane closes down and make a different choice.
3. Anticipate the thru pass and get moving to goal before the passer receives the ball.
Progressions:
1. Add a defender in the six-yard box.
