Set Up:
There are four players set up on a narrow field, with two players starting at each end. Player 3 begins the drill with a long, driven pass to Player 1. Player 2 makes a checking run back to the ball, and receives a short pass from Player 1. Player 2 then turns and plays a long pass back over to Player 4. Player 3 checks back to the ball, receives and turns, and then sends it back across the field. Play continues back and forth in this pattern, and the players take turns receiving and turning.
Coaching Points:
1. Show for the pass and communicate with your teammate before the ball arrives.
2. Hold your checking run until the play at the other end develops.
3. The checking run should have very sharp changes of speed and direction.
Progressions:
1. Add a player in the center, supporting both groups.
