Set Up:

Player 1 passes to Player 2, who lays it off for Player 1 to play a first time pass to Player 3. Player 3 plays it back to Player 2, who has run up from the first combination. Player 2 lays it off for Player 4, coming in from an outside position. Player 4 plays a first time thru ball to Player 3, making a run forward. Upon completion, the drill re-starts with Player 3 in a new corner.

Progressions: 

  • Upon completion, the drill is performed from the other end.

  • Add a goal/gk at the end for Player 3 to finish against after receiving the final pass .

  • Change the combinations at each cone.

Coaching Points:

1.   Control the weight of your pass. Players have to be able to play the next pass with one touch.

2.   Strike the top half of the ball to keep one touch passes on the ground.

3.   If players take extra touches, you will have to hold your run to the ball.
