Set Up:
The teams play 4v4 plus one in the final third of the field. After the attacking team (in blue) gets a shot off, the next ball is immediately played into the defending team (in black) by GK2. From there, the back (Player 1) looks to work the ball out of the penalty area with his teammates and score on one of the five small goals set up on the outside of the field. The attacking team looks to press and trap in order to win possession and attack again. All goals are worth one point and games are played to five. The neutral always plays for the team in possession. After each game, the teams switch roles.
Coaching Points:
1. Spacing – When attacking, use the entire field and try to isolate defenders 1v1 and 2v1.
2. Transition – Do not “switch off” after a shot. Keep playing and jump on the next ball.
3. Pressing – All four players must commit to the press. Don’t pressure the ball by yourself.
Progressions:
1 Expand the field to full width and add ten more yards in length.
