1v1 Moves, Small Grid
1v1 Moves, Small Grid
ORGANIZATION:
Set up a 20 x 20 grid. Place cones in the grid for the players to attack.
Step 1
Players dribble towards a cone, make a turn and dribble to the next cone.
Step 2
Players dribble towards a cone and make a 1v1 move.
Step 3
The coach yells out GO; the players quickly dribble towards a cone, make a turn, quickly dribble to another cone and make a 1v1 move and start dribbling around again.
FOCUS POINTS:
Dribbling:
-
Lean forward and over the ball with knees bent, on the balls of feet. Arms also bent. Relax the body and keep the ball close enough to stop it instantly.
-
Use the inside, outside, instep (laces) and bottom (sole) of both feet to dribble.
Turns:
-
Relaxed dribble to the cone, see where the cone is and begin the turn as close as possible to the cone. When making the turn, stick out the outside arm to hold off the imaginary defender.
-
Use pull back, inside or outside cut, Cruyff turn.
For 1v1 Move:
-
Dribble to the cone with your head up to see where the cone is and begin the move at the correct distance from the cone.
-
Make the 1v1 move with conviction and accelerate.
