Finish Twice, #1
Finish Twice, #1
Set Up:
There are 12-14 players set up on a large field with three goals and goalkeepers. Player 1 begins the drill with a pass up to Player 2. Player 2 lays the ball off to Player 3, running to goal. Player 3 finishes, and then runs to the next goal to finish a cross from the Feeder. Player 1 rotates to Player 2's spot, and Player 2 goes to the open shooting position (where Player 3 started from). Player 5 makes the next pass up to Player 1, and Player 1 lays the ball off to the other side for Player 4. Player 4 then takes his two shots on goal. Play continues with all of the players following their pass to a new position.
Coaching Points:
1. Delay the finishing run in order to finish the cross at sprint speed.
2. When finishing, slow down the approach so that you can adjust to the pass.
3. Make a curved run to the ball in order to create a better shooting angle.
Progressions:
1. First shot--finish a drop pass.
2. Second shot—finish a volley
