3v2, Three Times
3v2, Three Times
Set Up:
Fifteen players are set up on a large field split into three zones, playing 3v2 in all three zones. The attackers maintain possession in their zone and look to pass into an adjacent zone, working the ball up and down the field and back again. When the defenders win the ball, all six players are free to move anywhere on the field. When the attackers regain possession, the defenders must return to their original zones. When the ball is put out of play, the Feeder re-starts the drill. The defenders switch out every five minutes.
Coaching Points:
1. Run to wide positions and then look for blind side runs in behind the defenders.
2. Be ready to play one touch when the ball is changed from one zone to another.
3. Anticipate changes of possession for a quick transition.
Progressions:
1. The attackers can pass from one end zone to the other.
