4v3, Twice
4v3, Twice
Set Up:
There are fourteen players set up on a large split field, playing 8v6. During the drill, the attackers play 4v3 in one half of the field, and look to change the ball over to their teammates in the other half. Three defenders are stationed in a midfield zone, looking to steal passes or defend in the other half when the ball gets changed over. When the defenders win the ball, all six players are free to use the entire field to maintain possession. When the ball is put out of play, it is re-started by the Feeder.
Coaching Points:
1. Use the entire space and force the three defenders to chase the ball.
2. Anticipate changes of possession and switch quickly from attacking to defending.
3. Play the ball as quickly as possible, playing in a one and two touch rhythm.
Progressions:
1. The ball must be changed over within 3-5 passes.
