2v2 Box, to the End Line
2v2 Box, to the End Line
Set Up:
There are six players set up on the grid, starting at the cones. Two neutral players play along the end lines. To begin play, a neutral player passes the ball in to either attacker. All of the players release from the cones with the neutral’s first touch. The attacking team tries to advance the ball across the grid and pass it to the neutral on the opposite end line. After scoring, the attacking team keeps the ball and changes direction. When the ball is put out of play, all of the players return to the cones and the neutral player re-starts the game.
Coaching Points:
1. Receive and turn with the first touch and immediately look to go forward.
2. The attacker without the ball should look for runs in behind the last defender.
3. Look for 2v1 combinations (takeover, overlap) when a dribbling run stalls.
Progressions:
1. Move the cones closer together.
