Set Up:
There are 10-15 players set up in the attacking third, starting at the cones. During the drill, the shooter passes the ball up to the support player and then runs to goal. The support player lays the ball off for the shooter to finish. After passing, the shooter can run right or left of the support player. The players go to both lines during the drill, and the support players switch out after three minutes.
Coaching Points:
1. A poor first pass will affect the quality and the timing of the return pass.
2. The layoff pass should not take the shooter too wide or too close to goal.
3. Take the first touch towards goal and create a better shooting angle.
Progressions:
1. Back pass, finish.
