Outside, Inside #1
Outside, Inside #1
Set Up:
There are ten players set up in the attacking third, with two groups of five players starting at the cones. To begin the drill, Player 1 passes outside to Player 2, and then overlaps him. Player 2 passes inside to Player 3, who plays the ball thru towards the corner to Player 1. Player 1 crosses to Players 4 and 5 for a finish on goal. Upon completion, the other group of players re-starts the drill. The players rotate from 1 to 3 to 2 during the drill, and Players 4 and 5 switch places. After five minutes, new players rotate in to the striker spots.
Coaching Points:
1. Players 2 and 3 should not slow down Player 1 with their passes.
2. All players should check away, and then sprint back to the ball to receive.
3. Player 2 should fake a pass to Player 1 before playing the ball in to Player 3.
Progressions:
1. The strikers in the second group defend the cross.
