6v4, Thru Pass
6v4, Thru Pass
Set Up:
There are 12 players set up in the attacking half, starting 6v4 in a midfield zone. There is a restraining line placed just outside of the penalty area. Play begins in the midfield zone, and the ball can only be advanced across the restraining line and into the attacking zone with a thru pass. Once the ball is played in, all of the players can enter the attacking zone. If the defending team wins the ball, they can score in the three small target goals placed at midfield. Balls out of bounds are re-started with a throw in, and corner kicks are given. After goals, the Feeder plays the next ball in to the attacking team.
Coaching Points:
1. The goalkeeper is the boss. The defenders must follow his directions to the letter.
2. The defenders must put pressure on every single pass.
3. Every time the ball moves, every player on defense moves as well.
Progressions:
1. Progress to 6v5, and then to 7v5.
