Across the Zones
Across the Zones
Set Up:
There are sixteen players set up on a large field split into four zones. Each team places four players in alternating zones of the field. Both teams start with one ball in each of their zones. The object of the game is to get all four balls into one of your opponent’s zones at the same time. Players can block and steal passes made by the opposing team, and players may also pass to teammates within the same zone. When a ball played out of bounds, the Feeder plays a ball back to the team who kicked it out.
Coaching Points:
1. Check the target one more time just before striking the long pass.
2. If the defender closes down the passing lane, fake the pass and go somewhere else.
3. Show for the pass and call for the ball. Don’t hide behind the defenders.
Progressions:
1. All passes must be made on the ground.
