Jets and Sharks
Set Up:
10-16 players are set up in the attacking third, with players starting at the cones. The Feeder begins play with a pass in to the 1st attacker. The 1st defender releases with the Feeder’s first touch, and play continues 1v1 from there. The attacker may pass back to the 2nd attacker, but if he does the 2nd defender enters the play as well. Additional players are added with each back pass. If the defenders win the ball, they can score in the small goals set up outside of the penalty area. On goals or balls put out of play, the Feeder re-starts play with the next attacker and defender.
Coaching Points:
1. Go at the defender aggressively with the dribble and get him to stick a foot in.
2. Set the ball back when you are turned away from the goal and under pressure.
3. Fake the shot when the defender charges in, and take the ball to goal.
Progressions:
1. Begin with a 2v2. The back pass creates a 4v4.
