Screen the Keeper
Screen the Keeper
Set Up:
Five players are set up in the attacker third, along with the two goalkeepers. Two shooters are stationed on opposite sides of the field, with a third player set up in front of goal. The shooters take turns finishing on goal, as the third player tries to screen the goalkeeper on each shot. The goalkeeper re-adjusts his position with each shot, and switches out after three balls. The shooters rotate after three balls as well.
Coaching Points:
1. Come to a set position before the ball is struck, regardless of where you are.
2. Concentrate on the ball and move out from behind the player trying to screen you.
3. Choose to catch and parry as early as possible. Parry hard shots from in close.
Progressions:
1. Add a defender, who shadows the attacker.
