Chip Game
Chip Game
Set Up:
Ten players are set up on a large field, playing 4 v 4 with goalkeepers stationed on the end lines. The two teams defend their own end line and look to score by chipping the ball over the defense to the goalkeeper on the opposite end. The goalkeeper must catch the ball in order to score. When a goal is scored, the attacking team keeps possession and attacks in the other direction. When a ball is put out of play, the game is re-started by the Feeder.
Coaching Points:
1. Make runs forward and force the defenders to cover the entire space.
2. Look to play the ball up and then back, creating good opportunities to chip the ball.
3. Create superior numbers with a quick counter attack.
Progressions:
1. Allow the goalkeepers to score as well.
