Thru Pass Circuit
Thru Pass Circuit
Set Up:
Four players are set up inside of the grid, starting at the cones. Player 1 begins play with a pass up to Player 2. Player 2 turns and plays it back to Player 3, who makes a thru pass to the corner to Player 4 (during the drill, Player 2 can make the back pass to Player 3 or Player 4). After running onto the thru pass, Player 4 returns the ball to Player 1, who has moved to the right side of the grid, re-forming the ‘Y’ shape. After five minutes, the players should rotate over to a new starting position.
Coaching Points:
1. Player 2 must be able to turn and pass accurately within two touches.
2. Player 4 should start his run as soon as he sees Player 2 turn away from him.
3. Play a one touch thru pass so that Player 4 doesn’t have to wait for the ball.
Progressions:
1. Run two groups at the same time.
