Finishing Drill, #1
Finishing Drill, #1
Set Up:
There are 12-16 players set up in the attacking third, with a line starting in the corner. The players run from the end line, negotiating a line of cones or hurdles set up along the sideline. After clearing the last cone, they sprint 20 yards to the next cone and then turn towards goal. After turning, the attacker plays a double pass/wall with the Feeder and goes to goal, shooting from behind the mannequins. After each finish, the attacker returns to the start.
Coaching Points:
1. If the first pass in the combination is poor, the second pass is likely to be poor as well.
2. The passes in the combinations are short passes, played directly to the feet.
3. Shoot just as you come off of the mannequin, using him as a screen.
Progressions:
1. Add a defender starting from the six-yard box.
