Thru Pass, Back Pass to Goal
Thru Pass, Back Pass to Goal

Set Up:
There are 12-16 players set up on the narrow field, with lines starting at the cones. Player 1 begins the drill with a thru pass to Player 2, and he follows the play to receive a back pass from him. From there, the play moves from Player 1 to 3 to 2, and Player 2 passes across to Player 4. Player 4 plays back to Player 3, who sends him thru to goal. The players rotate counter-clockwise during the drill, and the starting position switches to the right side after 5 minutes.
Coaching Points:
1. A poor back pass will probably lead to a poor thru pass.
2. Make verbal and visual contact on each pass. Check your target before passing.
3. The last thru pass should lead Player 4 towards goal and not out wide.
Progressions:
1. Quick two touch passing at each cone.
