Passing Triangle – Part 1
Passing Triangle – Part 1
Set Up:
Player 1 makes a sharp, checking run back thru the gate to receive a pass from Player 2. Player 1 passes to Player 3 as Player 2 makes his run to the next gate. Player 3 passes to Player 2 as he comes thru the gate and starts his own run. Player 1 moves into the center to receive the next pass from Player 2. Play continues in this pattern with the three players staying at the same gate to receive passes. Players should play in a one or two touch rhythmand after five minutes, the direction of play changes to counter-clockwise.
Coaching Points:
1. Speed of Play – Be ready to pass so that the player can receive just as he turns thru the gate.
2. Communication – Call for each pass early so that the passer can play one touch.
3. Vision – Watch each combination develop so that you can time your runs correctly.
Progressions/Regressions
Progression 1 – Include wall passes and overlaps within each sequence.
