2v2 into 2v1 Transition
2v2 into 2v1 Transition
Set Up:
The groups attack each other 2v2 from the end lines. After a shot is taken, the defenders exit the field and two new players come out with ball to start the next attack. The player who shot the ball must touch the goal post of the goal they shot at before coming back to defend, creating a temporary 2v1 for new attacking team. So each player will attack, then defend, then go off.
Attackers are not allowed to pass back to the GK and the attacking team only gets one shot at goal. No rebounds.
Progressions:
1. Allow rebounds before transition.
2. Can use GK.
3. Progress to 3v3/3v2 transition.
4. Two new attackers must overlap to start before going to goal.
Coaching Points:
1. Attack at speed and do not allow the second defender to recover.
2. Drive at the defender with the dribble and make him commit before passing off.
3. Defenders should try to force play to the outside and create a 1v1.
