4v3 to Goal
4v3 to Goal
Set Up:
16 players are set up in the attacking third, with attackers starting at the cones and defenders starting from the end line. The Feeder can pass the ball to any of the attackers to begin play. All of the players release with the Feeder’s first touch, and play continues 4v3 to completion from there. If the defenders win the ball, they can score in the two small goals set up outside of the penalty area. When goals are scored or the ball is put out of play, the Feeder re-starts the drill with the next group of players.
Coaching Points:
1. Once the attack is up to speed, maintain or increase the speed of the attack.
2. Attack isolated defenders with 2v1 combinations (wall pass, overlap, etc.).
3. Commit the first defender by attacking him aggressively with the dribble.
Progressions:
1. Add a neutral attacker.
2. Progress to 6v4.
