Long Wall
Long Wall
Set Up:
8-10 players are set up in the small grid, starting in the corners. During the drill, Player 1 plays the ball back to Player 2 and then runs out of the corner. Player 2 fakes the wall pass to Player 1, and then plays a long pass to Player 3. Player 1 continues his run, receives a back pass from Player 3, and plays a long pass over to Player 4. Player 3 runs out of his corner to receive the back pass. Play continues around the grid in this back pass / long pass pattern. Two or three balls are used at the same time, and the direction of play changes after 5-10 minutes.
Coaching Points:
1. When attacking, continue your run even if you don’t receive the first pass.
2. When faking the wall pass, turn your hips towards that player and make eye contact.
3. Sprint out of the corner as soon as you strike the back pass.
Progressions:
1. Limit all of the players to one touch.
