8v4, Mid Line Shots
8v4, Mid Line Shots
Set Up:
14 players are set up on a split field, playing 2v2 in each half with four neutral players stationed in a central zone. All of the players must stay in their half of the field during play, and the neutrals must stay in their zone. Each team looks to move the ball from their defending half into the attacking half for a shot on goal. The neutral players are limited to two touches, and they are allowed to shoot on goal. On goals and balls put out of play, the game is re-started by the GK whose team is in possession.
Coaching Points:
1. Do not screen your GK. Go to the shooter.
2. Control your speed when you go to block a shot.
3. You are vulnerable to fake shots when you commit first.
Progressions:
1. The players can use the entire field, but the neutrals must stay on the midfield line.
