Set Up:

Player 1 passes the ball up to Player 3, stationed inside of the central zone. Player 3 passes back to Player 2, and Player 1 overlaps around him. Player 2 dribbles towards the center, then cuts the ball out to Player 1. After receiving, Player 1 can pass to either corner. Player 3 then runs to that side of the central zone to begin the combination back across the field. Outside players continue to shuttle back and forth during the drill, running to the line directly in front of them.

Coaching Points:

1.  Look away from the overlapping player until you pass to him.

2.  Make the pass just as the receiver reaches a square position.

3.  Put the ball out in front of the receiver and let him run onto it.

Progressions:

1.  Add a second player in the central zone, run two groups at the same time.
