END LINE FINISHING
END LINE FINISHING
Four Goal Finishing
The shooters start at the left post and the passers start at the right post. Shooters run from the end line and around the mannequins to finish shots. Shooters the replace the passer, and the passer moves over to the left post.
-
Slow down your run in order to adjust to the pass.
-
Just make solid contact as opposed to overpowering the ball.
-
Approach the ball from a forty-five degree angle.
4v2 Flank Start, #1
The Feeder plays the ball outside to Player 1 (or Player 2). Player 1 carries towards the end line and crosses. Play continues 4v2 from there. The defenders can score in the two small goals outside of the penalty area. The Feeder serves to both flanks.
-
As defenders slide over, make blind side runs in behind them.
-
Step out and show yourself. Don’t hide behind defenders.
-
Fake the cross before trying to turn the corner.
6v6 Plus Three
The teams play 4v4 plus one in the central zone and 1v1 plus one in the flank zones. The attackers look to pass from the central zone into a flank zone. Players in the opposite flank zone then enter the penalty area to finish the cross.
-
Maintain possession until you have a good opportunity to pass.
-
Attackers in the flank zones should use the entire space.
-
Delay the runs to the far and near post until the cross develops.
4v4 Plus Four, #3
The teams play 4v4 plus four, and during play the attacking team can use the four neutrals on the end lines. The neutrals are limited to one touch. When a goal is scored or the ball is put out of play, the game is re-started by the Feeder.
-
Long passes force the defenders to cover the space behind them.
-
Start your run to goal when the defender turns his head.
-
Create 2v1s with a quick transition after you win the ball.
9v9, Free Play
Teams play on a field a bit smaller than a full field - penalty area width and one end line moved up to the edge of one penalty area. The length of the game is 30-40 minutes and play is continuous, meaning no stoppages by the coaching staff to instruct.
-
No stoppages in play for coaching.
