1v1 Challenges
1v1 Challenges
Knockout With Passing
Attackers try to maintain possession of four balls. Passing is allowed, and the round is over when all of the balls have been kicked out. The teams then switch roles. The longest possession time wins.
- Your turning moves should not leave the ball exposed.
- Shield by getting sideways on to the defender. Make shoulder contact.
- Support from behind the ball rather than from a square position.
1v1 Challenges
The Feeder passes to the attacker, and the 1st defender releases with the Feeder’s first touch. The attacking player tries to dribble past the defender and across the midfield line. The second defender then releases to create another 1v1.
-
A good first touch gives the attacker more time.
-
Put the defender under pressure by taking the ball at him.
-
Change speed and direction with the dribble.
1v1, Five Shots
The attacker receives five balls from the outside, attacking the goal 1v1 each time he receives. The defender can score in the two small goals when he wins the ball. After the five balls are complete, the players switch roles. New players come on after those five.
-
Check away, then run back into the space.
-
When shielding the ball, use the outside of your foot.
-
If the defender is ball watching, make the blind side run.
1v1, End Zones
Players are 2v2 plus one in the central zone, and 1v1 in the two end zones. Play begins in the central zone, and attackers look to pass into an end zone for a 1v1 finish on goal. Players may not leave their zones, GKs restart play.
-
Attack defenders at speed during the 1v1.
-
Take your first touch away from the defender as you receive.
-
Check away from the ball in order to create space.
5v5, Quick Games
Teams play 5v5 games to two goals with a five minute time limit. Free play, no stops for coaching. Play is re-started by the GKs. In the event of a tie, the coach can decide to let the defending champs stay on or go off or determine the winner with a crossbar challenge.
-
No stoppages for coaching during play.
