Set Up:
There are 12-16 players set up in the attacking third, with players starting at the cones. The Feeder begins play with a long pass out to a flank attacker. The defender releases from the end line with the Feeder’s first touch, and the two players go 1v1 from there. If the defender wins the ball, he can score in either of the two small goals set up outside the penalty area. On goals or balls put out of play, the Feeder re-starts play with a pass out to the attacker on the other side of the field.
Coaching Points:
1. Close the door on the defender after you dribble past him and put him on your back.
2. Take the first touch towards the goal as opposed to creating a wider shooting angle.
3. Look to make physical contact with the defender in order to hold him off.
Progressions:
1. Progress to 2v2, using both sides of the field at the same time.
