Set Up:
Twelve players are set up inside the 18, playing 1v1 plus one in the flank zones, and 2v2 inside the penalty area. The Feeder begins play with a pass out to either one of the flank zones. Play then moves from the flank zone into the penalty area. When the ball is passed in, the players in the opposite flank zone can enter the penalty area, creating a 3v3 plus one. When the defending team wins the ball, they must play it back out into a flank zone before going to goal. On goals and balls put out of play, the drill is re-started by the Feeder.
Coaching Points:
1. Use the entire space in the flank grids, and look for overlaps and takeovers.
2. Hold the runs in the penalty area until a flank attacker gets clear of the defender.
3. Look for first time finishes from crosses and balls set back from the end line.
Progressions:
1. Play 2v2 inside of the flank zones.
