Topic:
2v1
Explanation:
2v1 Practice towards two mini goals. Group split into two and would be working at the same time to maximise involvement. The passing player / defender (Player #3) can choose who to pass to then react to create a 2v1 to goal. Depending on the age and ability of the group you may just do this to one central goal with a goalkeeper if you have one.
Coaching Points:
-
Attackers (Players #1 and #2) create width and play quick. Open up space for runs in behind the defender or through ball passes to goal
-
Defender (Player #3) try and narrow the angle on one of the players to block a pass to their teammate and try show them away from goal / frustrate the player on the ball
-
Attackers be sure to follow in any shots for rebounds and defenders work on transition, if you win the ball pass though the blue gates for a bonus point
Further challenge players by making a simple change, the player who does not receive the first pass reacts to become a defender, so play 1v2 to goal instead of 2v1. The player who did receive the ball joins the defending line while the other two join the attacking line.
