Set Up:
Eight players are set up in the attacking third, starting at the cones. The Feeder begins play with a pass in to Player 1, and all of the players can release with the Feeder’s first touch. Player 1 lays the ball off for Player 2 or 3 before they can attack the goal 3v1. If the defender wins the ball, he can score in the small goals set up outside of the penalty area. When a goal is scored or the ball is put out of play, the Feeder re-starts the drill with a new set of players.
Coaching Points:
1. Disguise the layoff pass and make the defender go the wrong way.
2. Continue your run to goal even if Player 1 looks away from you.
3. Make a positive first touch to goal and create a better shooting angle.
Progressions:
1. Limit the number of passes made before shooting.
2. Add a second defender.
