Organization:
Area: 36y x 20y
Game starts with a 6v3 in one end zone. Three additional defenders (in red) are stationed in the center zone, and three attackers (in blue) are stationed in the other end zone. The attacking team tries to maintain possession and move the ball from one end zone to the other. The defenders try to win the ball back, either in the 6v3 or by intercepting passes made across the center zone. When the ball is switched from one end zone to the other, the three defenders in the center zone leave that zone to pressure the ball. Other three defenders move into the center zone. When the defenders do win the ball, they try to score in one of the four small goals. Switch roles after several minutes.
Game: During the game, one point is awarded for switching the field or for scoring in a small goal.
Focus Points:
Defenders:
- High pressure on the ball
- Choose the right moment to pressure the ball. Look to pressure long passes, passes that are poorly struck, or when the attacker takes a bad first touch.
- Stay on your feet. No unnecessary sliding tackles.
- When you see the opponent open up to try and play a deep ball, pressure and try to block the pass.
Transition:
- Defenders score as quickly as possible on the small goals after winning the ball.
- Attackers try to win the ball back as quickly as possible after losing it.
