Set Up:
There are 10-12 players set up in the defending half, starting at the cones. The goalkeeper begins play with a pass out to Player 1, who plays the ball up to Player 2. Player 2 plays it back to Player 3 as Player 1 overlaps down the line. Player 3 lays the ball off for Player 1 to run onto. Player 1 then passes up the line to Player 4, making and inside out run from the center. Player 4 dribbles the ball back to the end line. During the drill, the players rotate from 1 to 3 to 2 to 4, and the goalkeepers alternate service to both sides of the field.
Coaching Points:
1. Player 2 must check away from the ball before coming back to receive the pass.
2. The pass from Player 2 to Player 3 should be played backwards, not square.
3. Player 1 has to hold his run for a moment after passing the ball up to Player 2.
Progressions:
1. Limit the players to one or two touches.
