Set Up:
To begin the drill, Player 1 combines with Player 3 on a double pass combination. As Player 1 strikes the first pass, Player 2 starts his overlapping run to goal. After Player 3 strikes his return pass, he spins to the outside and makes his overlapping run to goal. Player 1 then plays up to Player 4, and Player 4 finishes the combination with a pass for Player 3 or Player 2 to finish. Upon completion, the shooters go to the cones and the passers go to the starting line.
Coaching Points:
1 Passing – Players must make accurate one touch passes or the sequence will be too slow.
2 Timing the Run – Watch the play develop and hold your run if an extra touch is made.
3 Feinting – Disguise the last pass to make it difficult for the GK to anticipate the finish.
Progressions:
1 – Player 1 follows his pass in, giving Player 4 three shooters to pass to.
