Set Up:
There are 12-16 players set up in the attacking third, starting at the cones. Player 1 begins play with a double pass combination with Player 2. After receiving the return pass, Player 1 plays the ball up to Player 3, making an outside-in run into the center. Player 3 then lays the ball off for Player 2, running thru to goal. Upon completion, all of the players return to the same lines, and the drill re-starts with Player 4. After five minutes, the lines rotate clockwise.
Coaching Points:
1. Hold the thru run into the center of the field until the play develops.
2. All of the passes need to have the proper weight in order to play in a one touch rhythm.
3. The layoff pass is a one touch pass made with the outside of the foot.
Progressions:
1. Players use other combinations (overlap, takeover) before finishing.
