Set Up:
Two groups of five players are set up inside of the grid, with players starting at the cones. Player 1 passes up to Player 2 and makes an overlapping run to the opposite side of the grid. Player 2 passes square to Player 3, who turns and plays a thru pass to Player 1. Player 1 passes up to Player 4, who re-starts the drill in the opposite direction. Players 1, 4, and 5 continue across the grid in a shuttle fashion, Players 2 and 3 stay in the center and switch places with each turn. The other group of players runs the same pattern from the other side of the grid. Players should switch positions every 3-5 minutes.
Coaching Points:
1. Hold the run and watch the play develop in order to time your runs correctly.
2. Player 3 must let the ball run by in order to open up with his first touch.
3. Make the thru pass when Player 1 reaches a square position.
