Set Up:
There are seven players set up in the penalty area, including two Feeders. The shooter finishes passes from the Feeders from close in—between the penalty spot and the six-yard box—but only shoots at half of the goal. Each shooter and goalkeeper plays ten consecutive balls before switching out. The speed of the drill can be increased to force the goalkeeper to get up quickly for the next ball. The shooters play against both goalkeepers during the drill, and the goalkeepers keep a running score of goals allowed.
Coaching Points:
1. Resist the impulse to fall or dive backwards when making a save.
2. Block out the distractions from the other players, and play one ball at a time.
3. Choose to catch or parry as early as possible. Parry hard shots from in close.
Progressions:
1. Volley finishes.
