Set Up:
There are 12-16 players set up in the attacking third, starting at the cones. Two groups of players line up in the corners, and the first player in line speed dribbles to the cone just outside of the ‘D’. As he reaches the cone, he plays a square pass to himself (aka the “African Dribble”) and runs onto it, sprinting around the cone. From there, he finishes on goal. The other attacking line starts as soon as the previous player has reached the cone. Play is continuous, and the attackers switch lines after every shot.
Coaching Points:
1. Dribble with the instep, sprinting in between dribble touches.
2. Accelerate after touching the ball off, and again when you pick the ball up.
3. Pick your head up as you run onto the ball and deal with the goalkeeper.
Progressions:
1. Add a defender in the six-yard box.
