Set Up:
There are 12-14 players set up on a narrow field, starting at the cones. To begin the drill, Player 1 makes a long pass up to Player 2. Player 2 then lays the ball off to Player 3 for a shot on goal. Player 2 can also play a back pass to Player 3 for a first time shot on goal. During the drill, the players rotate from 1 to 2 to 3, and then over to line 4 on the other side of the field. Players 4, 5, and 6 execute the same pattern as players 1, 2, and 3 with Player 6 rotating over to line 1.
Coaching Points:
1. Hold the run in order to adjust to the layoff pass or the back pass.
2. Make a positive last touch instead of fading away from goal.
3. Deal with the goalkeeper as opposed to just hitting the ball hard at the goal.
Progressions:
1. Player 3 underlaps Player 2 with a run down the center and finishes a thru pass.
