Set Up:
There are 12-16 players set up inside of the grid, starting at the cones. To begin the drill, Player 1 dribbles towards his teammate (Player 4) and the defender (in blue). At the same time, Players 2 and 3 make supporting runs on the flanks. Player 1 plays the ball up to Player 4, who shields it and then lays it off to Player 2 or Player 3. Upon completion, the ball is played up to the next group, and play begins in the opposite direction with blue attacking and black defending. After five minutes, the central players (1 and 4) switch with the flank players (2 and 3).
Coaching Points:
1. Player 4 must use feints and checked runs to shake the defender off.
2. The flank players must hold their runs until the play develops.
3. Make physical contact with the defender so that you know where he is.
Progressions:
1. Player 4 can turn on the defender.
