Set Up:
The two teams play 4v4 inside of the central zone, attacking the two small goals. At any time, the attackers can pass or dribble out of the zone to attack the large goal. Each team has a player stationed in the defensive third to defend attacks on the large goals. After saves or goals, the goalkeeper re-starts the game by playing the ball to a teammate in the 4v4. The players outside of the central zone cannot join in on any of the attacks.
Coaching Points:
1. Decision Making – Maintain possession until an excellent opportunity to go to goal arises.
2. Speed of Play – Look for 2v1 combinations, particularly the overlap and takeover.
3. Decision Making – When defenders close down areas of the field, switch the play to a different goal.
Progressions/Regressions:
Progression 1 – The player outside of the central zone can join in on the attack
